While cabin crew are required to demonstrate professionalism whilst flying, flight attendants know how to have fun later on. As they learn how to deal with the unexpected, they sometimes land up being the unexpected part of the flight themselves. Passengers on board a Southwest flight from Nashville to Atlanta were surprised to discover one of their flight attendants greeting them from the space normally reserved for carry-on luggage. A Southwest Airlines flight attendant climbed into overhead luggage compartment leaving passengers baffled.
Southwest Airlines flight attendant greets passengers from overhead bin
Its common to be greeted by flight attendants when you board a plane, but they usually stand in the aisle. This wasn’t the case for a Southwest Airlines flight from Nashville to Atlanta. Passengers were treated to an odd spectacle upon boarding. A female cabin crew member climbed into the overhead baggage bin as a means to get fliers laughing. In fact she was cozy and content nested inside the overhead bin for about five minutes until more than half of the airplane was boarded. Passengers were surprised to be greeted by the quirky Southwest Airlines flight attendant hanging out in the overhead luggage bin. The bizarre prank was captured in a video taken by one of the passengers, Veronica Lloyd. The video went viral on Twitter and created much buzz online. Many were amused by the wacky and whimsical behavior of the flight attendant. Reacting to the incident, SouthwestAir remarked that they could “learn a bit more”.
Southwest flight attendants’ pre-takeoff antics
The airline’s cabin crew are widely known for demonstrating their sense of humor in the form of light-hearted pre-takeoff antics. More bizarre are their “sexy” safety speeches and “Looney Tunes” themed landing speeches. No wonder, Southwest was rated one of the best companies to work for. Perhaps, its due to its fun-loving atmosphere.
Whereas its flight attendant attempted to have a brief moment of fun with customers during boarding, Southwest crews always maintain safety as their top priority.
